Long Bio
Deva Arani is the author of The Mother Ache: Healing the Wounded Daughter Within and Integration Alchemy: The Real Ceremony Is Your Life. Her writing grows from a lifelong inquiry into how healing becomes lived through the body, our relationships, and the choices we make each day.
The Mother Ache enters through the mother-daughter relationship and the wounded daughter within, tracing a path toward belonging, inner authority, and embodied self-trust. Integration Alchemy begins with profound experiences, including sacred plant medicine, and explores how insight can take root in our relationships, daily rhythms, and participation in life. The two books enter through different terrain. Both return to the body, presence, and the journey home to ourselves.
Arani’s path has been shaped by literature and law, more than two decades of meditation, yoga, breathwork, and embodied practice, professional training in Compassionate Inquiry, and sustained study with teachers and wisdom keepers in India, the Andes, and the Amazon. Her work brings these streams into a grounded exploration of nervous-system wisdom, relational healing, feminine archetypes, reciprocity, and daily life.
Published by Sentient Publications and distributed by Simon & Schuster, her books offer readers practical and contemplative pathways into healing and integration. Arani holds a B.A. in English Literature and a J.D. in Law from the University of Colorado. She lives in the foothills above Boulder, Colorado, with her partner, Samir, and their dog, Ben.
